Michelle is a primarily a narrative painter whose work is a rich, colourful exploration of the ideas of self, life rituals, and the experiences that shape us all. She explores rites of passage, examining the spiritual and shamanic practices she has studied and their roots in modern-day rituals. Her paintings draw on her own experiences brought to life in natural settings – rivers, seas, forests – the backdrops for her stories about vulnerability, growth, and self-discovery. All are part of a collective story to be shared.

Employing natures landscapes as her primary subject matter — the main stage — she conveys her stories through colour, texture and form, casting characters from her own life as well as fairytales and myths she has heard, dreams she has encountered and other people’s stories she has been shared. Strangers frequently have wanted to share their own stories with Michelle, imprinting emotionally and often featuring in her work.

Michelle has been creating and painting all her life and has a first-class degree in Fine Art from Staffordshire University - this year she will be joining the TURPS Margate painting programme as a painting student.

Michelle is also a holistic & wellness therapist - not only does this influences her own art practice but it also allows her to run creative courses and workshops to help others tap into their ‘creative-force’.

Trained in a multiple of theraputic modalities; spiritual counselling, hypnotherapy, sound healing, reiki, a shamanic practitioner, mediation guide….. to name a few.

Michelle incorporates these practices to help others to either tap into their creativity, change up their practice or tune into a more intuitive way of creating.
